Financial & Regulatory Disclaimer

Last Updated: October 2024 (In compliance with Union Budget 2024 & SEBI Circular schedules)

1. Non-Advisory & Educational Purpose

FinTick (including its website, web calculators, and Android mobile application) is an independent quantitative financial computation utility. FinTick is NOT a SEBI-registered Research Analyst, Investment Adviser, Portfolio Manager, or Broker-Dealer.

All calculations, payoff projections, brokerage estimates, and tax outputs provided across our tools are strictly for illustrative and educational purposes only. None of the content, tools, or outputs constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, derivative, mutual fund, or financial instrument.

2. High Risk Warning for Derivatives (Futures & Options)

⚠️ SEBI Study Disclosures on Derivatives Trading:

As per official study findings published by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), 9 out of 10 individual traders in the equity Futures & Options (F&O) segment incurred net losses, with an average loss of over ₹50,000 per loss-making trader, and spent an additional 15% to 50% of net trading losses on transaction charges.

Derivative contracts involve substantial leverage, extreme volatility, and rapid risk of capital loss exceeding deposited margins. You should only trade with risk capital you can afford to lose completely.

3. Accuracy of Statutory Levies & Brokerage Charges

Statutory charges such as Securities Transaction Tax (STT), Goods and Services Tax (18% GST), Exchange Transaction Fees, SEBI Turnover Charges, and State Stamp Duty are formulated as per schedules notified by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, and respective stock exchanges (NSE/BSE).

FinTick continuously updates its algorithms to reflect statutory changes (including the revised STT rates effective October 1, 2024, and Capital Gains Tax rates under Section 112A/111A post Union Budget 2024). However, discrete brokers may assess varying depository participant (DP) charges, minimum call-and-trade fees, account maintenance fees, or clearing charges not captured in standard models. Always verify trade confirmations with your official contract notes issued by your registered broker.

4. Taxation Disclaimer

Tax computations for Short-Term Capital Gains (STCG), Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG), Intraday speculative trading, and F&O business turnover/tax audit criteria (Section 44AB) are generalized estimates. FinTick does not provide certified legal or chartered accountancy services. Individual tax liabilities depend on aggregate annual income, tax slabs, carry-forward loss eligibility, and specific financial circumstances. Please consult a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or certified tax consultant before filing income tax returns.

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall FinTick, its developers, authors, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, punitive, or incidental damages, losses, or costs arising from the use of or reliance upon any computations, tools, or information provided on this platform.
