🛡️ Our Core Privacy Pledge:
FinTick is designed on a client-side, privacy-first principle. We believe retail traders should calculate their profits, taxes, and margins with complete confidentiality. We do not require accounts, we do not connect to your broker, and we never collect your trade positions or financial credentials.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Unlike many fintech apps that request full access to your Demat or trading account, FinTick operates purely as an offline-first calculator:
- No Demat or Broker Credentials: We never ask for your Zerodha, Groww, Angel One, Upstox, or Dhan user IDs, passwords, API keys, or TOTP secrets.
- No Personally Identifiable Financial Data: We do not ask for or store your PAN, Aadhaar number, bank account details, or income tax records.
- No Trade History Uploads: Numbers typed into our calculation fields remain in your local device memory and are never uploaded to any remote server.
2. Web Analytics & Telemetry (fintick.in)
When you browse our public website (fintick.in), we use standard Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand anonymous aggregate website metrics (such as page view counts, broad geographic country/city, device viewport sizes, and referral sources).
This telemetry is fully anonymized, uses standard IP masking, and is used solely to improve server response times, ensure mobile compatibility, and fix broken web links.
3. Android App Privacy & Permissions
The official FinTick Android Application (package: com.sarthix.fintick) distributed via Google Play Store operates under minimal permissions:
- Network Permission: Used only to fetch periodic statutory charge revisions (such as NSE lot size updates or revised tax rates) via our Cloudflare Worker API. The app is fully capable of computing 100% offline without active internet.
- Zero Sensitive Hardware Access: We do not request camera, contacts, microphone, SMS, call logs, or precise GPS location access.
4. Local Device Storage (LocalStorage)
FinTick web tools may use your browser's standard localStorage to remember your selected preferences (such as your chosen default broker or dark/light theme setting) so you don't have to reconfigure them each time. This data never leaves your browser and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.
